Evolution of Covid testing management since 15 October 2021

As announced by the President of the Republic on 12 July, the end of the general free Covid-19 testing took place on 15 October 2021.

Since that date, RT-PCR tests and antigenic tests are no longer systematically covered by the Health Insurance. Nevertheless, there are still many cases!

The Government thus continues to encourage vaccination, which is the best way to protect oneself and others and the key to a sustainable exit from the crisis.

Eurofins continues to be present to participate massively in the Covid screening effort at over 200 sites in France!

Since 15 October, in order to maintain easy access to screening for people with symptoms or contact at risk, Covid tests remain fully covered:

  • For all adults vaccinated without restriction
  • For some unvaccinated adults with specific evidence (for more information)
  • For all minors

PRICING OF COVID TESTS IN THE EVENT OF NOT BEING COVERED BY SOCIAL SECURITY :

In the event of absence of coverage by the health insurance, the prices of the tests from 15 October will be €44 for a PCR test and €22 for an antigenic test. The price of the antigen test varies according to the type of healthcare professional, you will find the lowest price in medical biology laboratories.

WHAT TESTS WILL ENABLE A HEALTH PASS TO BE OBTAINED ?

A negative test result will always be evidence that can be used to obtain a health pass.

RT-PCR tests and antigenic tests will continue to be accepted, within the current limit of their validity period of 72 hours.
