Taking care of your children's health

Welcoming your children to Eurofins

Laboratory examinations can sometimes be a source of stress for you and your child.

Our medical teams are trained to provide reassuring care, guaranteeing the best possible reception and sampling conditions.

A caring and reassuring welcome for your children

With our extensive experience in the pediatric field, we can welcome your little ones from the earliest age. We have all the appropriate equipment.

Does your child need a blood test?

For children (and newborns), having blood drawn can be an anxiety-provoking experience.

Our medical analysis laboratories are committed to providing the best possible care for you and your child.

Our medical team is trained in taking blood samples from children and infants, and has the know-how to help calm your child and make the experience as reassuring as possible.

Our samplers are qualified for pediatric blood sampling and are equipped with very fine needles, suitable for sensitive patients and small veins.

How can you prepare your child for sampling?

Be honest with your child :

Explain what's going to happen in words they can understand.

Answer all your child's questions :

Your child will probably be curious about what's going to happen. Take the time to answer their questions.

Have a positive attitude :

Try to be enthusiastic about the process.

Don't let your child know that you're worried about the blood test. Don't talk about any bad experiences you may have had.

You may feel more anxious than your child. If this is the case, consider having someone else accompany your child, such as your spouse, a grandparent or another person you trust.

How do you prepare your child for the day of the visit?

On the day of sampling, make sure you have clothes that allow you to undress quickly.

For your babies, don't forget their favorite bottle, pacifier or cuddly toy.

Don't hesitate to visit our laboratories in advance of sampling. Our team will be happy to help you prepare for your visit.

If your child's doctor has prescribed a patch of anaesthetic cream to limit the pain of blood sampling, we recommend that you contact your laboratory to find out how to apply it and where to stick it, depending on the vein to be punctured.
